Nunca mas

Hardly anything is known about the estimated 10,000 people who have disappeared in Chile since the coup. A small group of the original arpilleristas continues to be the conscience of the nation and to challenge their government, which is encouraging people to forget the past. Their message is “Nunca mas!” which means “never again.” Never again in Chile or anywhere else should human rights be abused. They are also working hard to get human rights studies as a fundamental part of school curriculums.
